Old(er) PC game: Arcanum of Steamorks and Magick Obscura
I have a belated gift of having been deprived of video games all throughout youth and early adulthood. So I am spoiled by the fact older games are still very new to me. Arcanum was a game I played back in 2007, but didn't have the chance to play it on my own computer until 2015. I really enjoy the fact these games are both cheap and complete.
I really am glad to hear other people enjoyed it. My best friend recently got hooked on it, and it's very relaxing to listen to her play and help her through parts I've gone through.
I too have not beat the game. I enjoy the aspects (tech, magic, skills [and even attributes]) enough that I like to thoroughly explore everything prior to the....I don't want to spoil it for anyone, but when you travel northwest of the big city. Everything up until that point is both enjoyable and rewarding. So I have played up to level 20-30 just in the early parts of the game.
I did, however, learn that too many save files can be a bad thing. So I'm now forced to follow through with the eleven characters before making new ones. *chuckles* I have a couple gunslingers, one of which has quite an arsenal. The other which has quite a mechanical army of medical arachnids and clockwork physicians. Then I have a three magicians, and a couple pure skills characters.
It's a ton of fun. I hope you can find a way to play it again, if you really want to. :)
