What does all this mean??

This site looks fun, and very promising!
I've been roleplaying by post on text-based apps and forums for four years, but never have I seen a forum quite so confusing.

I was just looking at the "Create a Game" menu, and I was wondering what everything on there meant! I'd really appreciate someone running me through the basics of joining a room, creating a character or a room, etc. etc. I know there's probably one of these exact questions on this forum, and I'm sorry if you've answered it before.

But I have no idea, so I'd super appreciate either an answer or a link to another forum that has the answer. Thanks, loves,

- Myron

I figured it out! After reading everything on the Help page (which is sneakily hidden in the top right hand corner, real small), everything is clear! Thank you!

In reply to MyronKal (msg # 1):

Welcome to RPoL and Merry Christmas!

I hope you will eventually consider running a game as GM/DM/Referee/Storyteller/whatever.  RPoL has what I believe to be the best tools available for game development and organization anywhere.

There's a lot to the place, so if there's ever something you don't find in the Help, give a shout out in Community Chat.  There are other places to talk about specifics, but that's a great place to start.

Wanted - Players is for folks to advertise their existing games that are looking for new players.

Conversely, Wanted - GMs is for folks looking for a GM to run a game they want to play.

Game Proposals, Input, and Advice is a place for GMs to field proposals for games they are thinking about developing. This allows them to gauge interest before doing all the work of creating such a game.  The Input and Advice part comes in where folks want help with game-related stuff (but not with game system-related stuff) such as GMing, handling troublesome players or a troublesome GM, etc.  Be ready to receive any advice requested in this forum in this forum.

Dive in and get you some!  Holler if you need something.  We'll see ya around.
