Conan the Barbarian, Hyborian Kingdons.

Know, O prince, that between the years when the oceans drank Atlantis and the gleaming cities, and the years of the rise of the Sons of Aryas, there was an Age undreamed of, when shining kingdoms lay spread across the world like blue mantles beneath the stars - Nemedia, Ophir, Brythunia, Hyperborea, Zamora with its dark-haired women and towers of spider-haunted mystery, Zingara with its chivalry, Koth that bordered on the pastoral lands of Shem, Stygia with its shadow-guarded tombs, Hyrkania whose riders wore steel and silk and gold. But the proudest kingdom of the world was Aquilonia, reigning supreme in the dreaming west.

These words, introduced one of Fantasies great characters, Conan the Barbarian. I am a huge fan of Mr. Howard's works on this Barbarian, and the many authors that have come after him. The descriptions of the world of Hyboria still spark my imagination. I hope to find a fellow fan of the world of Hyboria, where Conan walked, breathed and adventured.

I am seeking someone that has the love and interest of Conan's world, and the flavor of Sword and Sorcery/ High Adventure that I do, that would be willing to GM a character of mine in this setting.

 Thank you.

Howard is my favorite writer of all time and his Conan work my favorite. If you find someone to run a game in that setting let me know.

I am hoping that there is someone out there that has the love of this world as we do. I was in a Hyborian game a few months ago, on here. Sadly, I got into it late, and the game folded some weeks latter. Very sad..... But here is hoping.

I have only read a few Conan short stories, but I am a fan of the sword and sorcery genre.  Are you sold on the places, and names of the setting?

I am a huge fan of the gritty Sword and Sorcery type games, in the spirit of Conan, Krull, Elric of Melnibone, Karl Edward Wagner's Kane( most do not know this one) etc. As much as I like the world of Conan, I am flexible on the setting. What did you have in mind, Grimjack?

I know Kane. And I am up for Sword & Sorcery of whatever flavor.

Karl Wagner was the best with Kane. As far as a background setting for a Sword and Sorcery game, I can do Forgotten Realms, Greyhawk, The new Kingdoms of Elric. What do you know and would be comfortable with? And what system do you like?

Re: Conan the Barbarian, Hyborian Kingdons.

Yes. Yes he was.

As for background setting... I am incredibly open on that. Except for Greyhawk. I've always hated Greyhawk. Forgotten Realms, the Young Kingdoms, Dark Sun, and damn near anything else. As long as it's sword and sorcery.

System wise I am really open. My preferred for S&S is Sorcerer with it's Sorcerer and Sword supplement but that's kind of rare.

if you ever manage to find someone who wants to run that, I'll play.
