New to the boards, obviously, but I was wondering if there is anyone else who enjoys the Familia Myth Anime and would want to run an E6 game in the setting.

It's not a perfect translation, but seems like it could work well.

So, what do you say folks?

E6 is a version of 3.5 where character progression stops at level 6 and after that, characters acquire additional feats every x number of xp.

I could be willing to run something like this, I've wanted to put together a megadungeon kind of thing. Are you looking for something solidly set in the Familia 'verse or just a game with the same themes?

Oh snap. I hadn't seen that the mods had moved the thread, sorry about that.

I would be happy with a story with the same themes. Large guilds working together to survive and gather resources from a nearby dungeon, ect.

And correct, E6 is a style of play that can be used without much change to 3.5 and pathfinder material that stops the nuclear arms race of character levelling right in the range of heroic.

I think I've seen levels 1-5 described as gritty fantasy,  and 6-10 as heroic fantasy.

"Epic" characters in that kind of setting might reach level 7 or 8, but that's up to the dm to decide.

What other thoughts have you had, Brodencrantz? I'm pretty flexible, as far as it goes, I'm just looking for something thematically similar.

Edited to fix spelling. Posted from my phone, my apologies

Now that there's at least a little interest, and I've given it some thought,  something like a Prum (halfling) could be a blast to play.

I've always wanted to try the Halfling Opportunist class from pathfinder out, but if you have a different system in mind that you'd prefer, I'm all ears.

I have more experience with 3.5 than pathfinder, but could probably make either work. if you really want the Halfling opportunist, pathfinder should work, though you'll only get the first level of it.

I'm gonna put a game together and toss it up tonight or tomorrow.

In reply to Brodencrantz (msg # 6):

Awesome. I've been hoping that something might come of this.

I don't know how you feel about 3rd party material, but the Approximate Understanding feat is on the d20pfsrd, and it's one I had looked at to make more than one level possible for the Halfling opportunist, but no worries if you're not alright with it.

The other idea I had was a dwarf character. I seem to remember reading somewhere that dwarves were the only race strong enough to fight in the dungeon before the blessings of the gods made it possible for humans / elves ect to fight as well.

The idea of having a character that is an outsider, coming to find his place in the world and able to interact with any of the Familias is interesting.

There'd likely be a bit of wariness on their part, since his allegiances are unknown, but that could make things fun, and if things work well with a particular Familia, he could try to join.

Just throwing ideas at the wall.

So, I'm guessing you got busy. I figured I'd let you know that I'm still interested, should the idea still hold your interest.
