White Plume Mountain (DnD5e)

It appeared quite suddenly, like magic - a mysterious mountain, almost perfectly conical in shape with a brilliant plume of white smoke spouting from it's peak. The locals started calling it White Plume Mountain. Then, problems started to arise. At first, it was only those who strayed too close who started disappearing. Search parties were formed but to no avail, those folks were never seen again.

Now, village children are starting to go missing while they slept in their beds. Then, sightings of small, stocky folk responsible for the kidnappings were reported. Dubbed 'Gremlins' by the locals, the gremlins sneak into the village at night, kidnap the sleeping children and make their escape into the mountain.

Will anyone heed the call for heroes? Will anyone be brave enough to venture into the mountain and bring back those who were taken?

Please note: This recruitment is for a one-shot adventure to play a run through of a slightly modified version of White Plume Mountain from the Tales of Yawning Portal book.

I'm looking for 4-6 players who enjoy writing and roleplaying in a gritty, realistic setting. These players will essentially be helping me shape a historic event that will affect my current set of players.

I'm looking for more "traditional/typical" races and classes (i.e. human, elf, dwarf, fighter, rogue, cleric etc.) to create a rounded party. Characters will be between lvl 6-8 (depending on the final number I recruit)

Barring unforeseen RL circumstances, the post rate of this game should be once every 24-48 hours.

Knowledge of DnD 5e and Forgotten Realms not required to join. In your RTJ please include:

1) Desired character name/race/class (multiclass is ok). Do not submit a character sheet.
2) Tell me if you've played White Plume Mountain before & your level of 5e experience
3) Most importantly, a writing sample from a game you are playing in or have played in, to see if our writing styles fit.

Would love to send a request to join form, but I am a new member to RPol so I won't be able to gain adult access until the 20th!

If you allow to have spaced saved or something then I'd appreciate it or maybe there was a way to discuss the potential of my character with you, that'd also be appreciated!

Looking for a replacement player to take over a lvl 1 male half Elven Cleric character.

I'm looking for a player who can commit to posting once every day, or once every other day. And this candidate must be open to playing in a gritty, realistic setting where actions do matter. Character death is a possibility due to the difficulty of the module.

Please note the rating for this game and even though the system is DnD, there are a few homebrewed rules to follow.

Note: This is an adult game and there are no particular classes/races that need to be filled. Just submit a character idea you want within the parameters of the game.

Hi there, a player has dropped out and I'm looking for 1 player who would enjoy playing a 3rd level dwarf wizard.

Posting rates for this game is currently moderate to slow. I'm looking for someone who would post more than just one liners and also accept  that there are a few home-brewed rules outside of DnD5e in the game to abide by.

I do not mind taking in beginners but would prefer if they at least have access to the 5e player's handbook or 5e quick start rules.

Please check out the information thread for more details and do take note this is an adult game.

Hi all! A couple of things:

1) Looking for a player to take over a lvl 4 male human Life Cleric of Lathander. He's been quite an integral part of the group that is trying to escape the Underdark.


2) I've 1-2 open slots for players who want to play in a DnD 5e game. Beginners welcome. Have a look at the rules/game world notes and send an RTJ with your desired character name and one paragraph of your character concept if interested! New players start at lvl 1.

In your RTJ for either application, please let me know if you're interested in taking over the cleric or playing a new character. Also in your RTJ, please include a copy/paste a post that you've written in another game you play on RPOL.

I'm looking for players who can commit to posting at least 4 times a week, enjoy writing, likes grit in their games with the possibility of character death.
