Star Wars: Return of the Sith
It has been 5 years since the end of the Mandalorian Wars. After which the Hero of the Mandalorian Wars, Revan, departed to Unknown Space with a fleet of ships never to be heard from again. In that time The Republic has expanded by leaps and bounds into sectors of space that had once been under the thumb of the Mandalorians. Some may say that The Republic is expanding faster than its ability to defend or supply its new territory. But The Galaxy yearns to be free, and The Republic is not about to refuse any planet that seeks membership.
Within the past two weeks however, a new alien threat has emerged. They somehow have the ability to fool planetary defense systems into thinking they are friendly ships. That is until they attack. They strike fast and hard, taking out military vessels and facilities with surgical precision. Survivors describe large triangular warships of an unknown alien design. Some survivors also say that these larger ships are escorted by Republic cruisers, which may explain their ability to fool defense systems. Rumor has it that Revan ran into a great threat that he wasn't prepared for, and they captured his fleet.
On the Mid Rim world of Pendak II there is a Republic training base. Recruitment is at an all-time high following this rash of hit-and-run attacks. Patriots are rushing to enlist to defend freedom.
Return of the Sith is a game takes place before the events described in the Knights of the Old Republic computer game. It is not yet common knowledge that Revan has turned to the Dark Side, and returned at the head of a fleet to conquer The Republic in the name of the Sith. The Republic Admiralty is keeping that a secret.
This game centers on a group of 6 Republic recruits who have been selected for special training to become commandos. They are people who have special skills from previous training. However, they are still green and have no combat experience.
Apart of this commando team in training are the Padawans of the Caamasi Jedi Master, Yod'kos Klila. Yod'kos seeks to train a Jedi who is ideally suited to leading ordinary soldiers in battle. This means that his Padawans must learn what it is like to not have The Force as your ally and instead rely on ordinary people. His Padawans must learn the limitations of ordinary soldiers. That way they will not make the same mistakes that other Jedi commanders made during the Mandalorian Wars of pushing their troops to exhaustion and ordering them to make suicidal attacks. Yod'kos hopes that his success will convince the Jedi Order to change their training methods.
