Riddleport is the third largest city in all of Varisia, and is no stranger to strangeness. From an ancient Thassalonian ruin, to the rampant crime, Riddleport is definitely a lively city. Filled with criminals, scholars, and all manner of other people, there is always something new going on.
However, recently a large dark cloud appeared in the sky over the city, and it doesn't seem to be moving. People have taken to calling it "the blot," but nobody knows what it really is. Even those using magic to attempt to identify it have only gotten a vague sense that it is not a good omen.
Life goes on in the big city. While blot is strange, there are plenty of other things to worry about. The thieves steal, the scholars learn, the snake oil merchants make money off of gullible people, and the Golden Goblin is having a huge gambling tournament- apparently Old Scratch himself will be there. Regardless, one could win a lot of money if they play your cards right.
But something sinister is going on, and no city is without it's secrets. Nobody knows what the blot is, but it shows no sign of going away. One thing for sure, is that there is something happening in Riddleport. Something bigger than gang wars or research. Something that if left unchecked might just drastically alter the Golarion that exists now. But for now, one might as well go gambling for a night!
