Something a little different.

You wake in darkness, your eyes tell you nothing and your other senses come into play, there is noise somewhere, some indefinable faint and distant background rumbling, the temperature seem neutral, neither warm nor chilly, the taste in your mouth is slightly sour and you can detect just a hint of ammonia in the dry air.

As far as you can tell you are lying on your back on a moderately soft surface and can feel course fibres under your fingers and neck, a bed perhaps, with a cheap blanket, if so, you are on top of it, not in it.

Shifting your weight produces a slight squeaking noise and the bounce of springs. You seem to be clothed in some thin, slightly stiff, light weigh fabric that rustles a bit when you move but that is all, you have nothing underneath and your feet are bare.

You do not know where you are, or why you are here and as you think on it you don’t even know who you are, your mind isn’t blank though, you realise that you are thinking in English, know what a bed is and recognise the smell of ammonia for example, also you are glad that you are not completely naked as you might feel even more venerable were that so.

You lay still for a moment, not panicking but calmly assessing the situation, which says a lot about your character, and as a moment or two passes you think, but can’t be sure, that there is a thin, vertical line of slightly lesser black to your right, slightly above your current eye level, it disappears if you look directly at it but can vaguely be detected if you don’t. You have reference to judge its range.

To RTJ for this game just go right ahead and post as if you were already playing, and find yourself in this situation, if accepted that will be your first post.

This game is rules light, there are rules and dice throwing to decide success or failure but the players don’t need to worry, just roll a d100 when asked, and know that the lower the result the better. This is my own classless system that I have used for many years for friends and family, a bit subjective, zero learning curve and extremely flexible.

I’ve listed this game as Contemporary, Sci-Fi and Survival, any more than that you will have to find out in game. There are a limited number of places here and if necessary, I’ll be selecting those with the most promising RTJ post.

The characters in this game are partially pre generated but with many aspects to be decided as the game progresses. Depending on player’s actions and answers to questions, I’ll fit them to the character they seem to be most suited to. The first question is a free choice and will be ‘what gender are you?’

I won’t be responding to questions here, if you have any please use rMail

If you are interested check out the Game play and expectations thread, and if that doesn’t put you off just post your first move in the RTJ.

Thanks, alphapred

I’m looking for a couple of players to take on orphaned characters here and because of the nature of this game, there is plenty of opportunity to mould these and make them your own. The name, description, style and attitude will be down to you, the characters skill set is dictated by the game and yet to be discovered.

The characters in this game have woken in a strange motel room out in the desert with no personal memories. There general knowledge and education seem intact and they might have a specific skill set but don’t who they are or how they got here.

Since then, they have met each other, raided a vending machine and met the motel manager who told them they had been bought in overnight by a man who said he’d be back in the morning but didn’t show up. This man left a van on the premises with some mysterious equipment in the back, he also left an emergency phone number, when the number was tried it resulted in a bunch of guys in black military gear showing up. They have left now and the characters are debating what to do next.

If you are interested just drop me a line.

Sorry, one slot already filled and posibly both.
