Interest Check: Fading Suns

Anyone interested in playing Fading Suns? I'm looking to play rather than run it. I'd prefer Holistic Design's 2nd edition (possibly with house rules) over FASA's Revised edition, but honestly I'll take what I can get. FS games have a tendency to die off due to players and GMs losing steam or flaking out after a while (at least in my own experience), so enthusiastic commitment and dependability by all players is a must. Hope I'm not alone in seeking this!

I am always interested in Fading Suns.  But the character creation process can take some people a while, you might consider having some sort of pre story playing out while people are working on them to keep interest high enough to get to an actual story.

Yes to everything!

I'm very much a fan of the Holistic version.

What are you thinking? Classic Questing Knights? I admit I've always been a fan of a less open concepts like the Noble Retinue(s) or Guild Archeologists or... You get the idea.

That's a great idea, Hendell, I'd totally be on board with that.

As for what I'd prefer, I'd actually like to take a crack at the classic noble and entourage on a quest across the Known Worlds Epic (like Erian Li Halan and her companions). Strangely enough, I have yet to play in a campaign like that.

I had a moderately successful run at that. Decados noble entourage. With her bodyguards, a van Gelder handmaid, a personal Reeve, a confessor and even a personal tutor who for some weird reason had a flux sword in his pocket.

Good times but admittedly a lot of work since the group would routinely split to see to their individual grisly business.
