READ ME FIRST: Background, Rules, and RTJ

This is a game utilizing the new Star Trek Adventures: Captain's Log rulebook, allowing us to play without a specific GM. I, Memory Alpha, will act as the motivator and primary driver, just so we have someone manning the game's helm, but all plot-related decisions will be made using the charts in the book, as well as the subsequent tables that continue to be published.

Access to the Star Trek Adventures: Captain's Log rulebook is required to play. You don't need to have it memorized, but you should be familiar with it.

The idea for this game is that each player controls their own starship, and stats up a single character for that ship. A Caretaker Array, similar to the one that pulled Voyager into the Delta Quadrant, has pulled the PC's ship to it, not only from different places, but possibly from different eras as well, so we could potentially have an NX-class ship travelling alongside a Friendship-class. The array is surrounded by a graveyard of decimated vessels from across the galaxy; as far as the PCs can tell, only their ships have arrived somewhat intact, but also worse for wear, as all of the ships were damaged either just before transport or as they arrived. Were you in a fierce battle? In the middle of a sudden storm in the Badlands? Or did you reappear in the same space as another ship, and the stress of two things being in the same place at the same time damaged your vessel while completely destroying the other one?

Each player will stat up one character for their ship. All other stations will be actioned by the ship's stats as detailed in the rulebook. You can be the Captain, the First Officer, a Department Head, even an Ensign on their first assignment out of Starfleet Academy! Whatever single role you think will be most fun to play.

Everyone's ship should be the BEST at ONE THING, and EVERYONE needs to acknowledge that. Maybe your ship is attached to the Starfleet Corps of Engineers. That means whenever the Lost Fleet has a problem that requires an engineer, we're going to look to you to help. Maybe you're a science vessel. Or have a fighter squadron. Or are Romulans, tasked with espionage. Perhaps you know more about alien physiology than everyone else, or have a pleasure barge that would be perfect for hosting diplomatic functions for the alien species we're sure to encounter. Whatever your choice, we should all work together to make sure everyone has a function, and we should all strive to respect each other's sovereignty in that area. That's not to say you can't CLAIM (in character) to be better than someone else at everything, just that eventually you'll need to defer.

RULES:
1. Don't be a dick.
2. All posts should be written third person, present tense (Captain Jazzbo crosses the bridge and throws a hard right at the Nausicaan pirate who is attempting to disembowel her helm officer. "Not on MY bridge!" she bellows.)
3. Keep the OOC out of character, please.
4. Feel free to write joint posts! There are plenty of ways to do that if you'd like, just be sure to include acknowledgement of that fact at the bottom of the post (i.e. "A joint post by Lambda Thuur and T'Moo")
5. Try to get at least one post up every five days. If you can't, please let everyone know in the OOC. The game will continue to move along without you. If you haven't posted in two weeks and haven't let us know you're going to be absent, we're going to take your ship along with the rest of us, but be assured that you're now cannon fodder and trade bait. Good luck with that. Don't ghost the game, is what I'm saying.
6. Any arguments about what should be done next will be resolved by rolling dice against the appropriate characters or ships. Half of us want to go explore the moon and the other half want to blow it up? The dice will choose for us and we will follow the winner.

RTJ: All I need from you is confirmation you own the rulebook, that you've read this post, and that you have a desire to play. Don't pick a ship class or a role yet; we'll discuss that as a group in the OOC first before creating our ships and characters.
