Expectations - READ THIS FIRST
I expect each player to post 2-3 times a week IC, more if they want. I will post when necessary to ask for rolls, do GM-y stuff, and answer questions. If there are gaps in posting, that's ok, because Real LifeTM happens. Just make sure to leave a message or PM if you will not be posting for a while. The only exception to the 2-3 posts a week part is in combat, where it is necessary to speed up posting so each player can take their turn in the proper order. Though once again, if real life stuff gets in the way, don't sweat it, just send a message and I will work something out that is good with everyone.
I expect that each post of a character speaking have some description of what the character is doing as well as any words they are speaking - this helps with theater of the mind. You don't need to be super descriptive, but a description of their posture, body language, facial expression, emotion, etc. would be great.
I expect that characters maintain an involvement in the game world - not just reacting to events, but being motivated to act. Follow leads, investigate clues, kick down doors that need kicking. Additionally, characters should be fundamentally good people, or at least be good at their core. No murderhobos, hostile loners, or others that need to be coerced into working with the rest of the party.
Other expectations:
- Rule of Cool comes first. If an action would be epic, but not technically allowed in the rules, the rules get thrown out for that action.
- Observe proper etiquette. Don't be a jerk, make sure not to remove other player's agency, and do unto others as you would have them do unto you.
- No PvP. At all. Conflict between characters is fine, but no party member should be trying to kill another PC.
- Finally, I'm new to Lancer, and while I have a few games under my belt, I'm not super experienced in GMing. If there ever is a time where you disagree with a decision I make, have concerns with how I am running things, or other issues with the game, please reach out and let me know. At the end of the day, I want to run a game that is enjoyable for everyone. If there is something I am doing that is interfering with that, please tell me so I can change it.
