Karl: The social class of freemen. A yeoman or landowner.
Nordland: The barbarian lands in the far north of the continent.
Seax: A long knife or short sword. Consider it equivalent to a scimitar for game mechanical reasons.
Slakt: The festival when livestock is buchered. Literally translated to butcher or slaughter.
Thegn: A particularly well-respected or wealthy karl. The word conveys a sense of personal power and influence and is a descriptor, rather than a title.
Thralls: The social class of serfs.
