File Conversion?

File Conversion?

So let me premise this by saying that I'm absolutely not a computer savvy individual. You might have noticed that by the Subject. As such, I'd like getting some help converting a file type.

I've got a map that I made for a game here on RPOL using Hexographer. It saves things as a .hxm . Now, RPOL doesn't support that, which is fine, but I'm not sure how to get it converted to a map type that is still going to be editable for Hexographer while also being a file type that is supported by RPOL.

Help. Please?

Does Hexographer have an Export option in the File menu? If there is, that'll let you save a copy of the map in another format like PNG.

If Not, do a screen grab (or a snip in Win 10)  and save that in a suitable format.

Looks like there's 3 options for exporting an image of your map.

In the File Menu:

• Export Current Size as PNG Image — The entire map is converted to a PNG image at the default size.
• Resize and Export as PNG Image — The entire map is converted to a PNG image after the mapmaker
selects both the desired number of hexagons per inch and the resolution (in DPI) of the image.
• Select Area, Resize and Export as PNG Image — After selecting this option, the mapmaker may drag a selection box across the map (and the map may be panned and zoomed) to save a portion of the current map. Both the desired number of hexagons per inch and the resolution (in DPI) may be selected.

The "Game Map" area of RPoL in the GM Menu area accepts PNG files, but they also should be less than 1MB in file size.

I dunno how big your map is, what sort of default resolution Hexographer uses, etc so you may need to experiment with the exporting and resizing to get an image that will work for you.

Thank you all! The "Export Current Size as PNG Image" worked perfectly!

Again, thank you! I'm sure my potential future players also thank you!
