Character sheet tables distorted on one game, not another

Hey!  So I have a smart-table arrangement I really like for character sheets in crunchier systems, and it's been going fine for a while.  Suddenly, in a game I recently joined, the same formatting is producing a table that runs two screens wide instead of text-wrapping.  All the text is set to <large> no matter how many </large> tags I include or where I put them.  Even better, when I copy the entire text into another game, it looks exactly like it should.  It's just in this one game that the formatting gives up and ignores all reason.

Any idea where I should be looking for why?  It's not my game, but I haven't found anything in games I have run that would overlay a style on a PC's character sheet.  I'm stumped.

I know there's a setting in the character sheet page for GMs that can change them from text-wrapping to not text-wrapping, so it might be worthwhile to ask your GM to try changing this setting.

That's at the same screen zoom in the same browser on the same platform etc.  The real warping seems to be coming from cells not wrapping, so I'm comfortable accepting that this is the cause of the table running way off the right side of the screen.  But would that also change the text size?  And if so, uh, why on earth?

The GM can set the character sheets to automatically use a fixed width font which is usually achieved with the <tt></tt> tags when done manually.

In my post above, the first sample table is normal text, the second sample table is enclosed with the <tt></tt> tags and is showing up as much larger in my browser.

If you're getting the same effect that may be the source of the issue.

Anyway, did nauthiz's post help resolve the problem?  Is it just that the text "looks" larger because it's not using the tt tag?

You might also have a look at the portion of this topic that discusses "nested" easy tables (enclosing them in HTML tags that constrain their widths).

AS mentioned by GrizzlyBear91 (msg #3), a GM is able to change the settings in the character sheets in their own game, which can drastically alter how the formatting of those sheets works, and would probably account for the different behaviour of the sheets.

Yes, this has been cleared up entirely. I'd have said as much and thanked people, but a post got deleted for being moot, so I thought I was supposed to drop it.

As long as it wasn't your post being moderated, then you were doing nothing wrong.
