The young commander of the 3rd Company's 2nd platoon, Lieutanant Briggs traces his bloodline to spireborn nobility from before the fall of Laurentix.  The soft-spoken officer remembers being rescued from the dying world before it was purged by Exterminatus, and while he embodies a detached calm in the face of battle he simmers with an underlying hatred of the enemy.  He is known for only giving a single warning to those under his command for infractions or incompetence; the second instance of such sleights is met with a las-bolt through soft tissues, or a  swift call for the nearest commissar.
