Appearance: Chestnut hair 5' 9". Moderate build more wiry than strong. While he tried to maintain a well kept appearance he will often forgo grooming and even sleep when in the middle of research. This fixation on his quest for knowledge often leaves absentminded and unfocused on the outside world at times

Background: Erskine spent his youth learning the science of Alchemy; using the ancient knowledge and power of transmutation to create material that the less educated would confuse with magic. Shortly after graduating to journeyman he was forced to leave his homeland due to guild and political conflicts.

For over a decade he had traveled far from home in quest of knowledge. He spent a couple of those years in a desert country working with a metallurgist to prefect methods to purify metals to be made into to coins, jewelry, weapons and tools of superior quality.

After a series misadventure he would find himself further east or west depending on the your world. Along the way he would add to his alchemical knowledge. He also heard rumors of a lost city of a lost civilization that mastered to ancient sciences, including alchemy, before it fell and was lost to history.

He would find himself washed up on the shore of a foreign port, He would spend several years with a family from a exotic (Asian) land. This family was descendants a great Eastern alchemist. While none of the current family were powerful alchemists in their own right they used their minor talents in their cooking and distillery business. Erskine would also learn some eastern fighting techniques from the family, often while getting beat up by the young girls in the family.

When a the Evil conquering nation attacked the city. He and the family managed to book passage with a friendly smuggler who owned them a favor. The smuggler, Captain Tim, knew of place where he could get them out of trouble.

Random NPC Family
Roger Qin: Shortly after arriving from their home country both Roger and his wife changed their first names. They never explained why. Roger handles the bar though one of the other employees pitch in when needed. While his alchemy talents were less than his great ancestor or even his brother he parleyed those talents into his distilling and brewery skills to produce the finest alcohol in the land. In his youth he spent time in a martial arts monastery. He will often wear his orange tunic or robes from those days.

Helen Qin: Daughter of a village handyman and martial artist. She ran off the Roger after he gave up the monastic life. She has often said she regretted that decision, this is often preceded or followed up with a slap on the head of Roger. Despite the disagreements this couple have displayed amazing combat teamwork skill, often arguing with each other during the fight. While Roger and the others will help out, the kitchen in considered her personal domain. Along with being an excellent cook it also said that she learned from her parents how to use everything in her kitchen as a weapon. Enter at your own risk.

The Tiger Twins: Lily and Rose are the nieces of Roger and Helen. Their father is said to have used his alchemists skills to turn a powerful tigress into a beautiful woman and charmed her into being his wife. Certain people and natives might be able to determine if this rumor is true of not. The sisters serve the drinks and food to the customers. Anyone attempted to grabbing either of the girls will be pummeled mercilessly.

The Wang family: These Three brothers and one sister are the children of a Pirate strongman and woman from the west who claimed to have descended from ogres. The Wangs were good friends of the family and took them in when their parents disappeared under mysterious circumstances.

The Brothers John, Harry, and William: divide their time between the tavern and the Distillery. With sizes from 5 feet 9 inches and taller and Martial skills learned from their father they can help the twins and their sister quell any fights.

Sister Vera: while several a little shorter than her fraternal brother William. Vera is fully capable of pulling her weight, one time grabbing a rude customer and throwing him head first into the floor. She will work with the twins at the tavern providing cheerful service to customers and help maintain order when they get rowdy. Along with a strong body she has a sharp mind for numbers and organization. She has used this to manage the finances as well as help Erskine control the clutter in is apothecary.
